Tammy Iden - Owner/Designer
Married, has a son and a daughter, a very special puppy named Gizmo
and I am a mimi to, 2 chinchillas, Koaliee and Karma.


 

We asked the designer a few questions so you can get to know her better!

 

Q: What is your style?

~ It is very eclectic and a little bit of everything but I gotta have that sparkle. I am a true magpie!

 

Q: What are your favorite seasons?

 

~ Spring and Fall! Spring because of the bright green grass and little pops of color everywhere. It is also my favorite time to shop too! I LOVE Fall because of all the colors, the leaves changing and I just love decorating my home for fall!

 

Q: What are your favorite stores to shop at?

 

~ I don't have a particular store, but I normally go for the small boutiques and antique malls to shop for jewelry that I can re-purpose!

 

Q: Would you rather go to a museum, beach or local attraction?

 

~ To the beach, I love the breeze and the waves crashing and just being able to relax and watch dolphins!

 

Q: Where does your inspiration come from?

 

~ I get inspired but literally everything life, fashion and magazines!

 

Q: Do you have any other hobbies?

 

~ Well of course, I love to read, cross-stitch, decorate and create floral arrangements.

 

Q: How do you like to relax, other than going to the beach?

 

~ Popping popcorn in the evenings and watching TV. Some of my favorite things to watch are old movies, Ghost Hunters and The Big Bang Theory!

 

Q: What is your go to outfit?

 

~ A cute comfy little dress, with some sandals and of course jewelry!

 

Q: What pieces of jewelry are you always wearing?

 

~ My father's wedding band, a ring my daughter got for me for Mother's Day, my watch and a great pair of earrings.

Q: What is the most enjoyable thing to do at Poetic Magpie?

 

~ Designing Jewelry, DUH!

 

Q: What struggles have you encountered while preparing to set up your shop?

 

~ Well I am not Tech Savy , so thankfully my daughter, Emily, is able to run that department!

 

 

Q: In the future, what do you see Poetic Magpie evolving into?

 

~ I hope to have Poetic Magpie sold in local boutiques and possibly noticed in Jewelry Affair Magazine or something similar!

 

Q: What piece took you the longest to create?

 

~ The South West Flower Necklace because of the woven chains. Weaving the chains together was a lot more time consuming than I expected but it really ties everything together.

 

Q: Any insight on upcoming collections or pieces?

 

~ For the holidays I want to add in some shimmer and sparkle. But I am working on pastel colors for the Spring. Overall, just an eclectic mix at Poetic Magpie, we will keep you updated!
