SNEAK PEEK: Woodland Collection for 2015 - Acorns, Owls & Feathers, OH MY!

Hello fellow chirpers! Today I thought it would be fun to give you a SNEAK PEEK at an upcoming collection! This collection is inspired by the blowing wind, changing of the leaves and of course the cheerful fall season! I'm sure you already guessed it by the title of this post.(but if you didn't) it is called the WOODLAND Collection!

In this collection you will see tons of fall inspired elements. Such as, acorns and mossy greens. As stated in my previous post MEET THE DESIGNER the fall season is my ultimate favorite. I wanted to incorporate antique gold, bronze and copper! To me all those metals are just so warm and they totally worked with the color palette I choose to work with.

For the color palette I choose to work with a Burnt Orange to represent the changing leaves and of course, to represent pumpkins! I choose to have a green in this collection to celebrate the life of the green leaves that were slowly fading away. The brass represents bonfires and burning wood. The red maple was to act as the dripping maple from trees and lastly, the golden amber was added to represent the color of the corn fields, right before they are harvested.

 

What you will see:

 

 







 As you can see there are a ton of elements in this collection. Some of the pieces you see right now aren't done by any means, but are almost completed. There are also feathers and floral elements as well, as you can see in the picture. We have a wide variety, suiting all of your fall accessory needs. Necklaces, Earrings and Bracelets! (so far)

Meet the Designer

of

Tammy Iden - Owner/Designer
Married, has a son and a daughter, a very special puppy named Gizmo
and I am a mimi to, 2 chinchillas, Koaliee and Karma.


 

We asked the designer a few questions so you can get to know her better!

 

Q: What is your style?

~ It is very eclectic and a little bit of everything but I gotta have that sparkle. I am a true magpie!

 

Q: What are your favorite seasons?

 

~ Spring and Fall! Spring because of the bright green grass and little pops of color everywhere. It is also my favorite time to shop too! I LOVE Fall because of all the colors, the leaves changing and I just love decorating my home for fall!

 

Q: What are your favorite stores to shop at?

 

~ I don't have a particular store, but I normally go for the small boutiques and antique malls to shop for jewelry that I can re-purpose!

 

Q: Would you rather go to a museum, beach or local attraction?

 

~ To the beach, I love the breeze and the waves crashing and just being able to relax and watch dolphins!

 

Q: Where does your inspiration come from?

 

~ I get inspired but literally everything life, fashion and magazines!

 

Q: Do you have any other hobbies?

 

~ Well of course, I love to read, cross-stitch, decorate and create floral arrangements.

 

Q: How do you like to relax, other than going to the beach?

 

~ Popping popcorn in the evenings and watching TV. Some of my favorite things to watch are old movies, Ghost Hunters and The Big Bang Theory!

 

Q: What is your go to outfit?

 

~ A cute comfy little dress, with some sandals and of course jewelry!

 

Q: What pieces of jewelry are you always wearing?

 

~ My father's wedding band, a ring my daughter got for me for Mother's Day, my watch and a great pair of earrings.

Q: What is the most enjoyable thing to do at Poetic Magpie?

 

~ Designing Jewelry, DUH!

 

Q: What struggles have you encountered while preparing to set up your shop?

 

~ Well I am not Tech Savy , so thankfully my daughter, Emily, is able to run that department!

 

 

Q: In the future, what do you see Poetic Magpie evolving into?

 

~ I hope to have Poetic Magpie sold in local boutiques and possibly noticed in Jewelry Affair Magazine or something similar!

 

Q: What piece took you the longest to create?

 

~ The South West Flower Necklace because of the woven chains. Weaving the chains together was a lot more time consuming than I expected but it really ties everything together.

 

Q: Any insight on upcoming collections or pieces?

 

~ For the holidays I want to add in some shimmer and sparkle. But I am working on pastel colors for the Spring. Overall, just an eclectic mix at Poetic Magpie, we will keep you updated!
